The Year Ahead

A happy New Year to everyone! I guess of all the years that have gone by, I am looking forward to this year the most due to a multitude of reasons. Some of those reasons have been listed below.

First and foremost, last year I finally stepped into the world of Data Analytics and I am very excited to learn more and more about the field through this year inside and outside the classroom. I look forward to more R experience that I will gain this quarter in addition to a lot of experience in MATLAB over the coming ten weeks. I hope that in addition to these two, I am able to continue to learn more about Data Analysis in Python by myself. I also look forward to higher level Statistics and Applied Mathematics classes that I have planned for upcoming quarters that would expand my view of Data Science.

Second, I hope to continue my interest in fields outside of technology. I have reached out to various museums and art galleries in Seattle informing them about my project and asking if some rendition of it can help them, which I would be glad to work on. I hope on getting replies and continuing to further improve the project. In addition, I plan to take up a new project later this year once I have enough knowledge and experience in Python and applying analysis and visualization skills in it. Over the winter break, I feel wonderful that I got the opportunity to learn more about philosophy, especially about Stoicism and about people like Epicurus, Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius. I have been highly engaged in reading Letters from a Stoic by Seneca (which I am yet to finish) and would encourage every person to explore the wonderful book (or Enchiridion by Epictetus, which is a very quick read).

Lastly, I plan on having a family get together at the end of this year and meeting cousins after many years.

I look forward to each of the above-mentioned things in addition to many others. I hope that I have a successful internship experience this summer and the wonderful year caps off in the presence of my family.
